Berlin Trip

Taking Brussels Airline to Berlin - Germany in the afternoon. Arrived in Berlin Tegel Airport around 6.15pm. Took the bus to Berlin Hauptbahnhof Train Central Station. The station just completed 2 years ago because of the World Cup 2006. It is beutiful and it has few levels including some shops and fast food restaurant such as McDonald.

Took the train to Zoological Station and then bus to the hotel that i had booked - Savoy Hotel Pension. It is near to the metro station and a lot of shops and some chinese restaurant. Finally, we able to find out the hotel. The lift was out of order and we had to carry our luggage to first floor.

After settle down and get some rest. Then we went to take dinner in a chinese restaurant. After that, there is place just like "German Market". We took a visit at there and bought something as souvenir from there. Then return to hotel and sleep. ZZzzzz

The next day, we went to Gendarmenmarkt then went to Fernsehturm. Fernsehturm just like the KL Tower. Next, we took a walk around the area. We walked passed Berliner Dom, Lustgarten fountain, Neue Wache, Humboldt Universitat, Brandenburg Gate and finally Reichstag. It was dizzling that night, so we just stayed at there for few min. Return to hotel after had taken the picture. End of another day again.

Brussels Trip

After visited Amsterdam, Brussels - Belgium is my next destination. We took train to go Brussels. I had canceled to take Eurostar to Brussels because I cannot get the ticket from Amsterdam Centraal Station. So, lucky I asked a day before the travel date. I took HiSpeed train at the end.

It was comfortable although we sat at second class. It took approximately 2 hours to reach there. We stayed at Hotel Ibis near to the Brussels Gare du Midi train station. The hotel located at a very convenient location, but it was a bit noisy at night.

In the evening, we just had a walk around Brussels Central Station. We went to the Grand Palace and the Hotel de Ville. The place is beautiful, decorated with christmas tree, lights and music. It is awsome. We felt tired after our dinner. We took Chinses food because my mum didn't get use to the western food like spagetti, grill food and others. Before we returned to hotel, we visited the Cathedral - Saint Micheal (Picture on the left).

The next day, I started my trip from the Bruparck where you will see the Mini Europe and the famost building - Atomium (Picture on the right). We spent at least 2 hours at there; seeing the mini europe, taking pictures and having lunch. The weather was cold and a bit foggy. Next, we went to Cinquantenaire and returned to hotel after that due to the cold weather.

I missed a lot of interesting places in Brussels. I hope I will come here again in the future.

Amsterdam Trip

The trip was on 12 December 2008. This is my parents and I first time come to Amsterdam - Netherlands. I arrived at the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport around 6.15pm. The weather here was bloody cold. It was only 1 degree, colder than the weather in Birmingham.

I tried to look for the Amstel Botel near to the Nemo once I arrived at the centraal station, but i failed because it has moved to new location where I had to take GVB boat. Amstel botel is not a building but a "Big Boat Hotel". The public transportations provided here are trains, trams, buses, boats and taxies. It is very convenient because it has a stop to most of the sightseeing places.

Well, to anyone who want to visit here. I suggest you to book a room at Hotel Ibis. It is located just next to the Amsterdam Centraal Station. You do not have to take boat and floating on the sea.

The next day, I woke up early in the moring. After taking my breakfast, then start my journey in Amsterdam.First place that I visited was a shopping mall. Then went to Dam Square and Waterloo. The weather was very cold. I unable to visit all the places due to lack of time and my parents cannot stand under the cold weather and walk for a long disctance whole day.

I will take train to Brussels, Belgium tomorrow by HiSpeed Train.

Gradution Day

Finally, I have successfully completed MSc Internet Software Systems from University of Birmingham with Merit. I am very happy just like the day I graduated for my first degree in KL.

Well, the graduation ceremony was vry simple, I felt disappointed. All students were sitting there and wait for their name to be called and shake hand with the UoB chancellor. Neither a scroll nor a piece of certificate was received from the chancellor.

MSc is my last education level. I do not want to go for Phd unless requested by my future company.

Trip to Bath and Stonehenge

The trip to Bath and Stonehenge was planned suddenly. I did expect that we will visit the place during weekday. My friend, Tong suddenly asked me where to go tomorrow (18/11/08) because he does not has class on that day and did not has to rush his weekly assignment.

We arrived there around 12noon, we did not have much time took a walk there because we had booked a tour van to Stonehenge and Lacock village at 1pm. So, we just visited the Roman Bath and Bath Abbey only before 1pm.

Roman Bath, is a nice place where the water in the pool is hot and the design of course is Roman style. We walked very fast so that we can see everything inside there within the short period. Of course at the end, we can't really explore the entire place.

We reached at Stonehenge around 2.15pm. The place is awesome and is bloody cold there. What can we see at there? We can only see the stone, sheep and the a big ground. and that all.. nothing special. As my friend said, we paid to Stonehenge just see the stone, sheep and grasses.

We departed at 3:30pm to Lacock Village. That village is protected by Local National Trust. Only employees and employers, local people can stay at there. If you have a lot of money but you are no local people, you are not allow to stay at there. All the houses and shops are built with traditional tecnique. Along the way to the village, the driver explained some hourse with sculpture. I have no idea what is that. There is a Sculpture bird on the roof and the roof is different from what you seen nowaday.

Glamorous Halloween Ball @ Gatecrasher

Gatecrasher at Broad Street is a club. I went there last night with my house-mates and friends for the Glamorous Halloween Ball event.

It was nice and I was very enjoy there with them. We drank alcoholic drink and dance at there. Poor me, because I do not know to dance. Most of the girls wore very sexy and masked themselves whatever they like. Some of them look very horrible, cute and funny,

We arrived there about 9pm, we went to withdraw money and then queued up. Although the queue was not long, but the weather was bloody cold. It was raining and windy, guess the temperature was about 3-4 degrees only.

We stayed there for approximately 4 hours then we returned home.It was nice and enjoyably to go out with them. That is my first time celebrated Halloween here.

Early Snowing in Birmingham

The climate is changed from year to year and temperature is getting colder than preious year.

The first snowing in Birmingham last year was on early November, but it happened in the end of October which was yesterday 28-October 2008 evening.

I was so excited although this is not the first time I see the snow. After this year, I have no chance to experience snowing again because I will return to my home country next year January unless I go to some other country for my holiday.

The snowing was stopped around 6pm and snowing again about 5am. Why I say so, because I saw the snow at my house backyard when I woke up early this morning. I have taken some pictures and it's beautiful. The sun is rising, and the snow is melting from time to time and everything will get back to usual at the end. When I can see snowing again? Hopefully, I do not have to wait for aged.

My MSc Award

Finally, I got my MSc qualification award yesterday. I am awarded Merit in MSc. in Internet Software Systems. It isn't too bad and not the best. It is just at the average. As long as not Third class, I am very happy about it.

I am not very surprise because the award is in my expectation. But, I feel curious because I have not idea what is the result that I got for my final year project/ dissertation writing. I have to wait for a week to get the result.

I feel relax and happy now because I am going to attend the Degree Congregation/Graduation Ceremony/Convocation in the coming December. I can't wait for it. How would it be and what are the differences between the ceremony in UK and ceremony in Malaysia.

Last day in Jarratt Hall

Time goes very fast, 50 weeks contract has reached to the end. This means I have been here almost a year. I can't believe it. I feel like I reached here yesterday.

I still remember the first day I came here, three luagges and a rice cooker guided by staff to my room; Flat 122 Room 2. It was a nice number 1222. Buy lottery and you might win the prize.

The room was empty on the first day, and it was filled up with a lot of stuffs within my academic year. Books, printer, papers, dolls and lecture notes. But 2 days before I move out, I had to pack all the stuff in my room and kitchen. It was horrible, I can't believe I had bought such many stuffs. It took me plenty of time to pack all the things in my room and kitchen. At the end, I got three big boxes and more than five small boxes and three luagges.

I don't like this feeling. Each time I move to a new place, it makes me feel very tired. I forgot to take a picture after I packed everything.

06 September 2008 was my last day in Jarratt Hall, it was also my first day in 491 Harborne park road. I will take some pictures and post it here. Be patient.......

Project Presentation Day

01 September 2008 was my project presentation day. I felt worry and scare. Worry about, I did not fulfill the MSc Project requirement. Scare about, project examinars will ask questions that I do not know how to answer.

I had prepared the presentation slides a day before and show to my supervisor in the morning. My supervisor checked the slides and gave me opinion, suggestion and advice. Thank you for his help.

my presentation ended at 2.35pm. I felt happy and relax. The presentation was different from what I imagined. They did not ask me a lot of question. if one of the examinar does not understand, the other one will explain. They asked me question when both of them do not understand what I was presenting.

Final Examination Mark

I got the final examination marks this morning. I am happy and satisfy to what I got. Although it is not the best but that is what I had did my best for my examination.

Congratulation to all students who have achieved their target.
Good luck and work hard for students who have to sit the supplementary exam in end of August. Do not give up.

I have a new mission now: my summer project. If I want to graduate with distinction I have to work extremely hard to achieve it. I will work hard to try to get the highest mark for my project although I have set to graduate with merit before I started my MSc degree here.

I have just finished my proposal. Now, I have to move on to do some more research on the technique is going to use in my project.

My project title is Mining Software Repositories to Evaluate Architecture.

英国 - 奥尔顿塔[Alton Towers] 一日游是我的大学-电脑学会[Computer Society]举办的。从我的大学到奥尔顿塔大约需要一小时30分钟。
The day trip to Alton Towers yesterday was organized by Computer Society from my department. It took about 1 hour and 30min to reach there from my university.

到达目的地时，奥尔顿塔令我想起云顶高原[GentingHighland，Malaysia]和双威水上乐园 [Sunway Lagoon - Malaysia]。奥尔顿塔是英国最大的主题乐园，无论 小孩，情侣，成年人 或一家大小都得来这一逛。你可以在那听见很多尖叫，快乐及疯狂的声音。昨天，可说是人山人海，我猜大概是很多大学都刚考完试 而且又是学校，学院或大学的暑假。
Alton Towers is really an awesome and fantastic. It reminds me of Genting Highland and Sunway Lagoon in Malaysia. It is the largest theme park in UK. Kids, couple, adult or family will come here to enjoy. It was crowded yesterday, I guess because of summer holiday now or college and university students just finished their exam.

因为人山人海，所以所有的游戏都需要排一段时间。平均一个小时吧，但是游戏就维持1-2分钟。这也没办法谁叫来的时间不恰当。我的天啊。
Most of the games have a long long queue. We had waited approximately 1 hour for all the games before our turn. But, the game is just about 1-2 minutes only. As a conclusion, we spent more time for the queue rather than play the game. Oh My God, that is game.

Dinner Night After Examination

A day before yesterday, I had my dinner time with some of my coursemates.
Venue: Dragon BBQ again....

It was great. I was really enjoyed it.
We made it a day before the viewing exam scripts.

I ate lesser than the first time, no idea why could this happened.

Examination Scripts

Yesterday was viewing examination scripts.
I was so worry a day before. Slept late a night althought I went to bed earlier than usual.

I woke up about 10.3o in the morning, then I got a message from my friend, Jay. He sent me a link and told me that the exam result had been released.

Oh my God, I was so nervous suddenly got this message and I did not prepare at all.
Finally, I logged in and scroll down slowly... that was my result.

Not too bad and not that good. Just at the middle. No regret and satisfied. Because I had did my best for the exam.

CHEERS ..

But the result that I viewed was the provisional marks. I have to wait until the final examination result to be announced.

Hope that there will be a up-scale on the examination marks.

Ripon and Fountain Abbey

Our school has organized a trip to Ripon and Fountain Abbey yesterday.
Ripon and Fountain Abbey are located in North Yorkshire, England.

Ripon is a small town where we have to take approximately 3 hours to reach there.
Fountain Abbey is a ruined Cistercian monastery, founded in 1132 [wikipedia].

I took my lunch with my coursemates at Dragon Inn, it is a chinese restaurant. we took our lunch very fast because it was not enough time to visit interested places if we ate slowly.

We went to the market place because it is just opposite the chinese restaurant. Next we went to the Ripon Cathedral and Prison and Police Museum. We did not go into it, just took some picture from the outside.

We departed to Fountain Abbey about 2pm. It takes 15-20 minutes to reach there from Ripon town. That place is really nice, the area is surrounded by trees and soft grass land. There is a St Mary's Chruch. All the church in UK look similar but their design are awesome and beautiful where I cannot find it in my Malaysia.

The trip was ended at 6pm. Felt very tired.
It way nice and enjoy.

Exam was ended

My exam is started on 13 May and ended on 3 June. That was a long examination period and I would have enough time to prepare for my exam. I'm so lucky because my exam time table was arranged very well,although I have two papers on the same day.

Started preparing my revision 2 weeks before the summer term.

Clinique Day

I went to the city alone this afternoon. On the way to the city, I am thinking what product I should buy today, what do I take for my lunch.

I have bought facial wash and pores minimizer. They have a promotion today, where buy any two product of Clinique, will give a set of Bonus Gift Box. Before that, I am still hesitate which brand I should buy. Loreal, Olay or Clinique. But I chose to buy Clinique. I have no idea whether it is nice for my skin type, but I think should be ok because it is branded.


I went to Malaysian Delight for my lunch. I ordered Hookien Mee and a glass of Ice lemon tea. WOW, the taste not bad at least I have that kind of feeling that I am now in Malaysia. I miss Malaysia food and drink. I want Teh Tarik, Milo Ice, Curry Laksa, Rojak, etc.... YUMMY ! YUMMY !

Ice Skating at Coventry

I went to Coventry for Ice Skating with Chinese Society members at University of Birmingham this evening. I went to Aldi mini market to buy something after the Yoga class from 12-1pm. Then, rush back to take my lunch and met with other members at University station. Majority of them are from China, follow by British Born Chinese (BBC), Hong Kong, Japan and only my friend and I are from Malaysia.

I met some friends there especially a Japanese girl, Nobeu. She is nice and talk a lot while on the way to Coventry. She studies politic science, I have no idea what course is that.

We arrived at there around 4pm and started to skate at 4.15pm-5.15pm. I felt once and luckily did not injure badly.

I arrived at home about 7.30pm then cook my dinner.
Feel tired and happy today :)

Stratford and Warwick

Woke up early in the morning around 7am because I am going to Stratford and Warwick today. Outside is very cold and you can see a layer on the grass had form the frost (结霜).

Stratford is a place where William Shakespeare (莎士比亚)was born. The area of the place is not very big. I arrived at there about 9.30am. Of course the first place that I have to visit first is William Shakespeare birth place (出生地). His house is locate at Henry Street. He was born in 1564 and died in 1616. Stratford is an amazing place. If you are here, this is the place you should not miss. You have to plan a day and visit here. Of course I have bought a lot of souvenir here.


After 1pm, I departed to next destination - Warwick Castle. The castle is big. You can climb up to the tower. You can experience the life at castle. This is another place you should not miss too. Because I do not have enough of time to go Warwick city, so amazing.

The Sadness Day

I felt very sad and moody yesterday after took the software workshop test. I did it very bad.

I went out to city centre to release all my sadness and tension this morning. I like to go out if I feel unhappy, moody, tension, stress and etc. I would not stay at home because it makes me feel worst.

First, I had my lunch at a Chinese Restaurant named "Malaysian Delight". I ordered Curry Noodle and 红烧京骨. Both look yummy because few months already didn't eat Malaysian food. At the end of the mean, I ordered my favourite drink, Ice-lemon tea. It isn't that you can see and buy outside. It isn't in the can. This Ice-Lemon is made by few slice of lemon plus tea.

After the lunch, I shopping at Bullring and High Street. I planning to buy some facial cleaner and pore minimizer.

I went back home around 5pm. Today's weather is very very good. You can feel the warm from the Sun.
